Dear Member,

If you are not a currently matriculated student at Edinburgh University, please read this email carefully, as it contains important information on your membership of New Scotland Country Dance Society.

Due to changes in the society legislation from Edinburgh University Student Association (EUSA), we are switching our membership database to an online system. This is a mandatory change for all EUSA societies and will have several advantages, including a standardized membership system across all EUSA societies, the possibility of buying membership and paying for events online and making administrative work considerably easier.

The online database will be based upon the current student records of the University. These records do not include alumni or any society member not affiliated to the University. Therefore these members must make an online EUSA account for us to able to add them to our database.

The DEADLINE to make this online account is midnight, 31 JANUARY 2013. After this date we will manually add all of the members of New Scotland that are on the University records or have a EUSA account to our own database. If your name cannot be found on the online register at that time we will not be able to add you to the New Scotland database and you will have to repay the full membership price to become a member again.

Making an online EUSA account is free. It will take only a few minutes of your time and can easily be done by following these steps:

Go to www.eusa.ed.ac.uk

Click on ‘Log in’, in the top right corner of the page.

Click on ‘Guest Login’, in the middle of the page.

Click on ‘Register a guest account’, in the middle of the page.

Fill in your personal details and click ‘Register’, at the bottom of the page.

Wait for the validation email from EUSA, you are now a member of the EUSA database.

DO NOT add yourself to New Scotland, we will add you ourselves. If you do it yourself you will have to repay the New Scotland membership price.

Please use the same name for your account as you did for your New Scotland membership to avoid confusion.

If you have any questions or encounter any problems while making your account, please do not hesitate to send me an email at asbm6399@gmail.com

Thank you for your patience.

Kind Regards,

Alastair Mackie
NS President

Hey you all,

Christmas is a reason to celebrate together with all your friends. For some friends it is a good by until after New Year for others it is even for good.
Thus we decided to have a brand new event this year: the Christmas Meal
Come along on the feastday of St. Nicholas 6. December (19:30) to share an evening of food and dancing.
There will be no class at that night, but you are invited to bring your favorite Christmas dish with you and show (i.e. eat) it to all the others.
Afterwards we will dance (or roll around, because you ate so much) to unconventional dance music. (Guess what)

Hope to see you all there
