You will learn new, more unusual figures and work on your technique. This is especially important if you want to continue to performing level and join our dem team. If you are unsure whether you are at an appropriate level to join the Intermediate class, please contact the teacher, or speak to your current class teacher.
- Trip class choreographyStarts: 20:00Ends: May 22, 2012 - 21:30Location: Highland Room, PleasanceThis is an Advanced level class for people who have reached a level higher than Intermediates. It is aimed at perfecting technique and runs at competition level standard. This class is appropriate for those who have been taught to an Advanced level, and those who are currently being taught at Intermediate level (e.g. attending our Intermediate Class), but feel they are ready to advance to a higher level.
Attendance at Demonstration Class is by invitation only. Please speak to your current dance class teacher or contact us at nscds@ed.ac.uk if you are interested in joining the class. We are always keen to hear from anyone who would like to join.

- Extended Social Dancing (class)Starts: 19:00Ends: May 24, 2012 - 22:00Location: St Peter's Church, Lutton PlaceCeilidh dances are fun and easy to learn, and no experience is necessary for this class. The dances are suitable for everyone and quick to learn.
The class is taught by rotating teachers to give you the chance to learn different styles and tricks. The classes are organised by Jenny MacDonald.

A trophy for Edinburgh!
Our dancers are back from Newcastle dance festival and brought with them a trophy: Together with our sister group Dunedin Dancers they won the display with their army style dance. Congratulations, you did a fantastic job!! For everyone interested: Here is the video.

Term Start
Welcome to a new term full of dancing and other social activities! Our classes will run again from next week, please do note the venue changes though! Only the classes at Lutton Place stay where they are, all other classes will be held in a different venue this term!
For step classes on Monday we have the Summerhall (Vet School), for Tuesdays St Columbas by the Castle and for Highland the Potterrow Dome.
On Wednesday, 19. January there will be a taster class at the Pleasance from 6pm – 8pm, where you can have a first try at all the different dancing styles we are teaching – and the best thing is: it is absolutely free! So if you have never danced step, highland or ceilidh and want to have a go at it, or have some friends who are curious about this, do come along!
Please do also remember that there will be lots of other events this term, like Refreshers’ Weekend, Annual Dance and IVFDF in Bristol!
